Our planet is under attack from the Star Spores, and they've warped life on Earth into ferocious uber-bugs. Even worse, a nasty alien has made its new home directly attached to your head. But It's not all bad news - your new best friend has provided both the strength to fight back against the mutated horde, and control over a weapon that can tip the balance of the battle in humanity's favor: the ChainStaff.

Your friendly soldiers’ lives are your upgrades.

You’ll come across a number of stranded fellow soldiers in your travels around an alien-infested Earth. Your human consciousness urges you to rescue the soldiers, which in turn will let them develop more powerful guns for you. The more alien part of you has a rabid taste for organs and suggests an alternate route: removing their hearts or their brains to increase the power of your ChainStaff - but what will your Captain think?
